Dafabet will again be the title sponsor at the World Pool Masters. Dafabet is an online sports betting operator that partners with many high-profile brands such as Celtic FC, Norwich City FC and the Warwickshire County Cricket Team. Dafabet is also the title sponsor for the British Fast5 Netball All-Stars Championship. Dafabet was previously the title sponsor for the World Pool Masters 2017 and 2019.
Gibraltar hosts the 2020 World Pool Masters. 24 of top pool players will compete for $100,000. Matchroom Pool Club subscribers can purchase tickets for the tournament on Monday, 12/12, while the general public can purchase tickets on Tuesday 10/12. Last year's champion, David Alcaide, will be looking to defend his title against a world-class field of stars.
Dafabet World Pool Masters
Dafabet has extended its title sponsorship deal for the World Pool Masters. The tournament will be held from 22 to 25 Mai 2019 in Gibraltar. The title sponsor of the World Pool Masters 2017 and 2018 was Dafabet. Dafabet has also signed other sponsorship deals. The company has also partnered with LaLiga, a football tournament in Spain, and Durham Cricket Club in England.
Dafabet World Pool Masters International is a nine-ball pool competition. It is the most prestigious event of its kind and has raised the amount of prize money for each year's winner. The prize money for this year's event was $100,000. David Alcaide of Spain won the tournament. Alcaide beat Alexander Kazakis of Greece by twice the length in the final. Niels Feijen defeated Shane Van Boening to reach the final in the previous event. In the first round, David Alcaide was also defeated by the Dutchman.
Joshua Filler
Joshua Filler from Bonen is a German pool player who is making waves in professional pool. The 21-year old has won both the China Open and 10-ball European Pool Championships. He is also the youngest person to win one of these two competitions. He was the China Open winner and the European Pool Championships' youngest ever winner.
Filler began playing the sport at seven years of age and was already competing at the National level. At age twenty, he made his Mosconi Cup debut and represented Europe at the event. He won the China Open 9-ball tournament as well as the European Pool Championship ten-ball. The next year, he won his first world championship, defeating Italian Carlo Biado in the final. He not only won his first World Pool Masters championship, but also won the Mosconi Cup.
Lo Ho-sum
Lo Ho-sum was the first Hong Kong pool player who reached the World Pool Masters final. He expressed concern about a recent budget reduction. Despite his recent success in the sport, he remains relatively unknown outside of his homeland. Lo was an unofficial wild-card player to the Gibraltar tournament. He won a number of matches and reached the final. In the quarterfinals, Lo defeated Shane Van Boening. But, in the final, he lost to Joshua Filler. Lo's heroics brought an end to the tie at six.
The World Pool Masters is an annual nine-ball competition that determines the best pool players in the world. The event was first held in Europe but expanded to include players from other parts of the world. Lo has a solid professional record and has maintained a high rank throughout his career.
Sanchez Ruiz
Francisco Sanchez Ruiz won the 2022 US Open Pool Championship. He defeated Max Lechner 13-10 in final. This win places him at the top on the Live Nineball World Rankings. He also receives $50,000 as the first award. Sanchez Ruiz becomes the first Spanish player in history to win one pool's oldest majors. Sanchez Ruiz also passed Shane Van Boening with this win, pushing him over the $100,000 mark.
Sanchez Ruiz had many difficult moments against Filler. He was able to overcome his initial nervousness and win after making two consecutive racks. After Filler fought back to take a three-point lead, Sanchez Ruiz managed to run out with a two-rack buffer.
