
The official snooker world ranking system ranks players based on their most recent performance. It is administered and maintained by the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association. This listing is updated at the end of each ranking series. To be eligible for the World Snooker Tour a player must hold an current snooker world ranking. Players are seeded according to their performance in specific tournaments and their ranking.
For the first two years, the snooker world rankings were based on the results of three World Championships: the World Open, UK Championship, and the Professional Players Tournament. Each of these events gave one seed to the winner, while the runners-ups received two. From 1976 to 1982, there was only one ranking event: the World Championship. The International Open became the fourth ranking championship in 1982. As competition grew, so did the number of tournaments.
During this time the knockout format at the World Championship was re-introduced. This is considered to be the beginning of the modern era of snooker. Today, most records are built from the period beginning in 1969. The current total number of titles on the snooker ranking list is 31.

Ray Reardon reigned supreme in snooker during the 1970s. He won six Welsh amateur titles in a row and was also the World Champion. He won the 1974 World Championship. It was the first ranking event. He held the record for most ranking titles until Steve Davis broke it in 1998. However, he eventually retired from snooker.
Stephen Hendry was one among the most dominant players of the 1990s. He was the number-one player in the world for eight years consecutively and won seven of his seven world titles. He currently shares the all-time rank titles list with Ronnie O'Sullivan. However, he has decided to retire from snooker at the end of the 2012 championships.
Judd Trump is currently the world ranking snooker champ. His other accomplishments include being named the snooker players of the Year. Despite this, he has not yet managed to break the top spot. He was just one point ahead of Mark Williams at the beginning 2019 Both players will be competing in the finals for the 2020 UK Championship as well as the Cazoo Master's.
Kyren Wilson is another major player in the rankings. He is a Premier League specialist. He is a sports tipter and enjoys playing in the NBA or MLB. He also enjoys playing NFL and MLB. In his last two seasons, he has won four ranking finals, with two losses in the finals.

The four-time world champion Mark Selby has lost in the semi-final and quarter-final of the World Championship. Selby has also had to deal with some high-profile failures throughout his career.
From September 12-16, the fourth Indian Open World Ranking Snooker Tournament in Visakhapatnam will be held. The action will be viewed by many celebrities. The event is free to enter.
