The World Trick Shot Championship, a championship for trick shot billiards, is held every year. The competition first took place on snooker boards in 1991. It was organized by Matchroom Sport. Matchroom Sport organized it. The competition was held in 2005 at Celtic Manor.
In the 1970s, trick shots were popular among professional billiards players around the world. These players were awarded prizes including the World Championship of Artistic Pool (ICCP), the International Challenge Cup and the Swedish Championship. Trick shot, a form of pool, is now a sanctioned sport under the World Pool-Billiard association. Apart from participating in tournaments, trick shooters also teach the sport.
Since the late 1970s, Mike Massey has been one of the most well-known trick shot artists in the world. He has played many games alongside sports celebrities like Jason Gedricks and Paul Sorvino. Massey is also an instructor and fund-raiser for the sport. His performances at Wentworth's Waste Management Pheonix Open as well as the Volvo PGA At Wentworth has earned him a high level of visibility.
Mike Massey has taught many professionals in the sport including Scott Baiin, Dean Cain and James Tolkan. He has participated in many international professional competitions. The team performed at both the HSBC Championships Abu Dhabi as well as the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters.
Jim Sommer, another great trick-shot artist. He has played in many international Trick-shot turnering events and has also traveled to the United States to compete in the US Nationals. He won the US Nationals Artistic Pool Championship.
The World Trick Shot Artists Association is an international organization that brings together trick shot artists from around the globe. Paul Gerni (world champion) is the organization of this association. The WTSAA book contains 160 tricks. Some of these tricks include the machine gun shot, the "kick" shot, and the quick-fire shot. Other trick shots include: the "pro", the "extreme" and the "proper" shots.
Tim "The Dragon" Chin, the 2022 US Nationals Artistic Pool Champion, won the prestigious title by defeating Jason "The Michigan Kid" Lynch in the finals. Both Lynch and Chin have been ranked WPA World. Lynch, on the other hand, is a professional with experience, while Chin is still at Ohio State.
On October 9-10, Trick Shot Magic will host its next event. Eight international stars will compete in this competition. They will be competing for the purse of $40,000. Each player will be able to choose six to ten pre-defined shots. After choosing their favorites, each player will be given three chances to complete the shot. Each player who makes a successful shot earns a point.
Geoff McIlroy has been the greatest trick shot artist on the planet for many years. Noel Hunt was the inspiration that led him to take up trick shots. He has fallen from ladders and met people that he never thought he would meet, but he has never given up on trying.
