Cutthroat pool is a fun game that can be played by three or five people. Cutthroat pool is similar to 8 ball pool. Each player gets a set of balls and must pocket their opponent's ball. There are some additional rules to this game that differ from 8-ball pool.
Players must decide when the shots will be taken, and they must also assign the balls to the groups. Each group is made up of numbered balls, from 1 to 5 in each group. The first player to make a ball chooses a set of balls to shoot for and the rest of the players can start shooting once that player has made the first shot.
When playing cutthroat, the cue ball must remain between the head cushion (or the table rail) and the cue ball. If a player accidentally jumps the cue ball off the table, they are guilty of a foul. If a foul is committed, the player must spot the ball again and then lose their turn.

Cutthroat has a triangular grid. Cutthroat is played with a triangular rack. Players place one ball in front, and the remainder are placed in each corner of the triangle. The game may have other corners depending on how many players there are. To avoid a chaotic break, players must decide how they will call shots before the game begins.
In most cases, each player will call their shots in turn. They can only stop if there is a foul, miss, or mishap. There are several rules that dictate the manner in which balls are spotted. If a ball is spotted with the shooter’s ball on it, the object ball must also be seen on the rail. This increases the likelihood of the shooter scoring, and it makes the job harder for the other players.
There are no draws when playing cutthroat. A draw is when the shooter and the opponent's ball make contact with each other and are both pocketed. Cutthroat does not allow for any draws. However, players who spot a ball without making contact with it will be accepted by the rest of the group.
Cutthroat requires players to continuously shoot. Cutthroat requires players to constantly shoot in order to win. Once this goal is achieved, the player wins the game.

Three to five players is the most common way of playing cutthroat. It is possible to play the game with two players depending on the number of players. A team has a greater chance of winning if each player is proficient in the game. But it can still be fun to play with two or three players. As with most pool games, there are some simple rules to follow, and a few more advanced strategies to consider. Learning new skills can be fun while still having a lot to do.
